Manufactured using the authentic techniques of the 1930s and 40s, Himel Bros Leather jackets are built with the utmost attention to detail. Himel use only 100% cotton, Guttermann brand cotton thread and a selection of the highest quality leather in production and in our case, the famed Shinki horsehide.

The Heron is named for both the majestic Canadian waterfowl, and the White Heron Castle in Japan, near where our proprietary Shinki horsehide is sourced. It’s based on a deeply primitive early-1930s style, which demonstrates both the simplistic beauty of naïve tailoring, and the construction excesses of the 1930s. Characteristic of adventurers from Earhartt to Byrd, this Cossack style was adopted by the American military and designated the ‘A-1.’

This Chocolate Brown Suede is a full grain Horsehide suede that has been chrome tanned from Shinki The leather is highly flexible and feels chamois-soft on the surface This suede is unique as it has been produced specifically for Himel Bros, designed to replicate the early suede of California and Block tanneries

The jacket has been lined with a heavyweight Vietnam-era tiger stripe camo exclusive to Himel, produced in Japan.
